New Dimensions, attempt at E Butt of Lower Cathedral Rock
October 27-28, 2012
Previous Page
On Saturday, we climbed the ultra classic New Dimensions at Arch
Rock. I struggled in one of the body squeeze flares, but the last
pitch was worth all of the shenanigans.. WOW!
Sunday was intended for a longer route (given it was almost
November), we thought we'd check out the East Buttress of Lower
Cathedral Rock. It was really cold, so we didn't get as early of
a start as we should have.. and the super wide "5.8" first pitch
took a while. Given it was now 12:30pm, the days were short, and
we had 10 pitches above us with an unknown descent, we made the
decision to bail. The consolation prize was a run up Serenity
Crack, we left the valley euphoric!
