Lima

Place to stay: We stayed at "Casa Marfil", a very clean and cute place in the Pueblo Libre district. The place appears owned and managed by Cosy Coyllor, who is very friendly and speaks English. To reserve a room, email her at cosycoyllor@yahoo.com or casamarfil@yahoo.com. The address is Parque Ayacucho 126, at the 3rd block of Bolivar Avenue. The price in 2007 was 20 soles per person. She can also pick you up at the airport.

Buses to Huaraz: Cruz del Sur, Movil Tours (luxury bus, around $15-20 one way)

Huaraz

Places to stay:
Olaza's: Owned by Tito Olaza, who is very friendly and helpful. Very modern, clean rooms with hot showers. Rooftop patio with amazing views of the Cordillera Blanca and free breakfast. Three computers (as of 2007) with internet (and even Skype), free for your use (this was VERY nice for an addict like me). I spent my whole time in Huaraz here, and loved every minute of it.
Others: La Casa de Zarela, Churup
Restaurants: Siam de Los Andes (many's favourite)
Huaraz Satyricon - small restaurant/bar with a projector, a mini movie theatre (showing movies in Spanish with English subtitles usually).

Misc things

Dukoral - vaccine for travellers' diarrhea (appeared to work?)
